Having broken down the concept of
fundamentals of information systems,we can easily say that their presence is
essential in shaping our modern world into what it has become today and even
more importantly reshaping it into what it will be in the future. It is very
hard to argue that we are living in a rapidly transforming society and that the
evolution of technology and the resulting information channel that results from
it is the catalyst for change. A decade or two ago we were not so intimately
linked to one another both in communication and in our level of understanding
of the world that we live in. When we deeply look at where we are now and how
quickly we have gotten here it is revolutionary to say the least. We are fast
starting to push the existing limits that people thought existed in almost
every facet of our existence and the presence of well-organized knowledge
produced by intricate information systems. Business and economics, which are
the pillars of our country’s prosperity, have been enhanced as the information
systems we are exposed to have become more useful since they now tell us so
much more than we could discover before they existed. Companies are now using
the most efficient production methods to produce goods and services in numerous
countries and they would most definitely not be able to do as much as they are
now doing without the knowledge gained through improved information systems. As
the world changes and it is very clear that it has changed, we have to change
with it and understand where it is going exactly and why it is going where it
is going. We have to be able to see the trends that are forming right before us
and without information systems leading the way, we will surely fail.
